Since becoming a stay at home mom one of the main things that the kids and I have been doing a lot of is reading. At the beginning of me becoming a stay at home mom one of our kids would go weekly to have visitation with their mom and we were driving an hour away for a 4 hour visit so it didn’t make sense for us to drive home then drive back so we had to find things to do to kill time. The location of the visit was in a shopping center so naturally we browsed the stores in the shopping center and we came across Books-A-Million (BAM) and I fell in love. Books can get expensive though so we have been going to the public library also to get new books fairly frequently because we go through so many books I definitely couldn’t afford buying all of them. Some days I have to go back to the library the same day because Braydin has already finished his books that he has checked out. He checks out three at a time these days because he reads them so quickly (like within an hour).
We also have a three-year-old who absolutely loves books but isn’t reading yet, but she loves to be read to. So I started thinking about some of my favorite books that I read as a kid and wondered if they were just a big deal to me or if they were popular books in general. I looked at multiple sites and compiled a list of the top 52 books for children to read. This list was compiled by comparing all of the list and then seeing which books were on what list and then seeing how many times each book appeared.
Below each book I will post the Amazon link that way if you want to add it to your book collection you can. The thing I love about this list is that there are 52 books so there is a book for each week of the year!
